The Program Coordinator will oversee the recruitment, assessment, enrollment, training and successful placement of individuals returning to the community from incarceration in the South Central CT Workforce area.
Coordinates with area adult education and training providers as well as colleges to identify skills refresher and training programs aligned with in demand occupations.
Works closely with the Business Services team.
Assists in recruiting employers in target industries and occupations willing to hire and train eligible participants.
Supervises and oversees project staff.
Develops methodologies for evaluating progress on programs and grants.
For any subcontractor establishes parameters to monitor performance, initiates program evaluation and tracks performance.
Provides program documentation including data collection and report writing.
Oversees and monitors grant financial status.
Represents Workforce on committees and task forces as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two to four years of related experience, preferably in workforce development, training, recruitment and placement functions.
Experience working with previously incarcerated individuals a big plus.
College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to interact with people of different races, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds, varying education and work experiences.
Ability to supervise others Excellent communications skills:
verbal, written, listening and presentation.
Well organized; takes initiative.
