The Compliance Coordinator supports the Office of Corporate Compliance & Privacy (OPCC) by providing administrative support, working on projects, and investigating issues under the direction of the Director, System Compliance Operations.
Additionally, the Compliance Coordinator assists with implementing and maintaining an effective and comprehensive compliance program for the System, consistent with regulatory, contractual, and ethical requirements; Yale New Haven Health System policies; and industry practices.
The primary focus of this position will be compliance-related projects, inquiries, and investigations.

Serves as a role model for ethical behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of the Systems Code of Conduct and Privacy and Corporate Compliance Program 2.
Provides administrative support to the Director, System Compliance Operations in an effort to maintain and enhance YNHHS's compliance program 3.
Monitors and triages emails received in the compliance inbox 4.
Receives, tracks, investigates and resolves assigned compliance inquiries and concerns received through the hotline, compliance email box, the OPCC main phone line, proactive system audit reports and other sources 5.
Assists Director, System Compliance Operations with updating Comply track documentation for their cases, as needed 6.
At the direction of the Director, System Compliance Operations prepares routine compliance reports and related analyses 7.
Assists the Director, System Compliance Operations with routine rounding to ensure open lines of communication and to foster a culture of compliance 8.
Works closely with staff to maintain open communications with the compliance program 9.
Interfaces directly with Delivery Network employees and serves as a resource for addressing compliance questions 10.
At the direction of the Director, System Compliance Operations, supports preparation for external audits and completion of internal risk assessments and audits 11.
Provides compliance training to employees, under the guidance and direction of the VP, Corporate Compliance and Directors, System Compliance Operations 12.
Completes in a timely manner compliance work plan projects as assigned 13.
Participates in the review and revision of assigned OPCC Policies for submission to the VP, Corporate Compliance; Directors, System Compliance Operations, Director of Revenue of Compliance, and/or the System Privacy Office 14.
Actively participates in departmental and team meetings 15.
Provides input to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance program 16.
Participates in assigned committees and task forces, representing the Office of Privacy and Corporate Compliance 17.
Maintains current awareness of healthcare compliance laws and industry developments pertaining to healthcare compliance 18.
Handles all compliance matters with sensitivity and maintains strict confidentiality of all work material and activities 19.
Participates in outside healthcare compliance organizations to stay abreast of corporate compliance developments and best practices within the industry QualificationsEDUCATION Bachelor's degree in business, health care, or a related field.
Certification in healthcare compliance, auditing or related field desired.
Five years of work experience combined with active pursuit of a bachelor's degree will meet this requirement.
EXPERIENCE Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in any field.
Volunteer, internship and participation/leadership experience in student or community organizations will meet this requirement.
Some experience in healthcare, compliance or a related field preferred.
LICENSURE Certifications in healthcare compliance required within two years of hire.
SPECIAL SKILLS Attention to detail.
Effective writing and presentation skills are a must.
Skilled at using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Project management skills.
Ability to prioritize and plan work independently.
Team player with high level of integrity and trust.
PHYSICAL DEMAND Travel requirements are minimal.
However, Compliance Coordinator must be able to travel to all DNs and physician offices throughout the system, as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
