Summer Associates
The program provides summer associates with an accurate understanding of what it takes, and what it is like, to be an attorney at the firm. The program is structured to provide summer associates with the opportunity to work for as many attorneys as possible, to be exposed to numerous and varied areas of law, and to observe and participate in many aspects of legal work. The attorneys make every effort not only to provide stimulating research and writing assignments, but also to allow summer associates to accompany them to events such as depositions, trials, hearings, closings, client meetings and labor negotiations. Will spend 5 weeks at Northeast Utilities Legal Department where the summer associate will have an opportunity to participate in the day-to-day work experiences of in-house attorneys at a major Connecticut utility. The other 5 weeks will be spent at the firm. Should demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in critical legal skills including writing, research and problem-solving. Must have completed first year at law school.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
