Teacher - Adult Education & Literacy
Seeking a dynamic certified secondary ed.
or adult ed.
teacher to provide basic education and literacy instruction to adult women with children.
This position is a component of a New Haven based pilot program that is designed to prepare adult women to enter local occupational skill training programs, higher education and/or employment.
The candidate must possess a State of CT Teaching Certificate and have experience instructing and supporting adult learners.
Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices, curricula and computer technology is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Education; State of CT Teacher Certification for Secondary Education; plus one to three years' experience.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, the No Child Left Behind Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and parents' rights and responsibilities under these laws.
Candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish are preferred.
Position will require evening hours as determined by program needs.
Eight (8) hrs.

Pay rate $21.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
