Based on curriculum needs, the project editor conducts research on macroprudential regulation and financial stability. The project editor works with the Faculty Director, Yale Program on Financial Stability (YPFS) and the Director Case Research to use this research to create cases and other materials for the YPFS. Conducts extensive reviews of the academic literature, legal filings, government decisions and journalistic accounts about specific issues in macroprudential regulation and financial stability. Collaborates with participants to the Yale Systemic Risk Institute on researching and writing about identified issues. Arranges and conducts interviews with executives (some-on-camera) to gain additional information about the issue. Creates case studies about macroprudential regulation and financial stability issues, translating business and economic information into coherent prose. Prepares supporting materials for the case study into comprehensive tables and charts. Works with the YPFS Faculty Director and the Director to sharpen the pedagogical value of the material. Reviews drafts with informants and directors and incorporates revisions into text. Formats the written material into pdfs according to department standards. Helps create web sites about the material, including raw online cases as the need arises. Other duties as assigned, including working with students or faculty to edit and/or complete materials they initiated.
This position has a one-year, fixed duration and requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate level work in economics, law, finance, or business is strongly preferred. A valid passport is also required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
